IIS Share Increase Due to Blogs? Explain Please

June 7, 2006

Scoble points out a huge increase in the number of servers running IIS, then makes the claim that it’s due to the increase in the number of blogs.

Looking at popular blogging systems, the ones that come to mind are WordPress, Movable Type, and hosted WP and Blogger offerings.

Explain to me again how any of that has to do with IIS? Am I missing a big chunk of the puzzle?

They explained where the marketshare is coming from. By the way there are about 100 million MSN Spaces now. Way more than on Blogger or other services. And MySpace is now the #2 site on the Web. Both of those run on IIS.
