It’s been an interesting series of “Too little, too late” revelations in the last week or so.
First, Portland Police Chief Derrick Foxworth was found not guilty on charges of sexual harrassment, yet the mayor determined that his reputation and trust has been damaged so he can’t continue as chief.
Now, we find out that there were a bunch of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq after all. Does it matter at this point? Even the most staunch Republicans had gone on record as saying the WMD issue was one of bad information, and now it turns out that the bad information wasn’t so bad after all.
Does it matter that the facts have changed at this point in the game, or has the public image and reputation already been set so that any future revelations of fact will have such a minimal impact that they’re irrelevant?
