Jay over at Wizbang posted a good piece today discussing war, the perception of war, and the reality of war, specifically discussing Israel and Palestine. As he states:
I don’t want an open war between Israel and the Palestinians. But the cold, hard, simple truth is that the war is here. And the only thing worse than open war is a war only waged by one side — because not only does it guarantee the slaughter of innocents, but it encourages the aggressors to try again.
He’s right. We can’t keep pretending that they are on a road to peace. We’re either too dependent on Arab oil, or just too chicken shit to call it like it is and take care of the problem. This isn’t a partisan issue; our presidents for several decades, from both parties, have all pretended like things were okay and made big political scenes over pretending to “help” the so-called peace process. Clinton even got nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. It’ll take an act of God/Allah/Whomever to get the religious fanatics to ever agree to stop blowing each other up.
