Dan Froomkin: Missing the Point
Dan Froomkin of the Washington Post has totally missed the point as to why the New York Times fiasco is a problem. They reported classified information. The information isn’t new. Information of this type isn’t new. There are hundreds and thousands of military plans and contingencies drafted for any number of situations. What makes them work is the fact that they aren’t broadcast worldwide.
Releasing classified information can kill people.
Why is that so hard to understand?
