Disliking Bush is not a Platform

July 8, 2006

This article points out that Lieberman may have a kiss of death… an unforgiveable sin of not hating George Bush. I’ve said it several times… “we don’t like Bush” is not a winning platform for the Democrating party… they tried it in 2004 and trying it again is stupid.

I don’t think that people dislike Lieberman for not disliking Bush. From everything I’ve heard, GWB is a fairly likable fellow (my youngest brother can relay some very nice stories about the man, and he’s almost as much as a lefty as I am), so it’s not surprising that people in Washington like him. I believe that Lieberman suffers for backing some of his more disasterous policies (and it certainly doesn’t help that he’s whining piteously about actually having to campaign to get the Democratic nomination.)
