Apparently a bunch of folks are all worked up over the fact that George Bush said the word “shit” when discussing the current skirmish in the Middle East.
Given the context (a fairly casual conversation between Bush and Tony Blair, although media was present) and the fact that the folks in the mideast are blowing each other up, I believe the word “shit” is perfectly reasonable to describe the situation. Yes, the president should set a good example, and if he were routinely going around talking in ghetto-speak there would be a problem, but a small slip of the tounge in that context was nothing to get worked up about.
