7 Sites to Get the News Before Slashdot
Most geeks read Slashdot, but those who are tuned into some key blogs will get the news anywhere from 6-48 hours before it shows up on the front page of “News for Nerds.” Here’s a primer for which blogs to watch to be aware:
- CNET News.com - general technology industry news.
- Google Blogoscoped - everything you ever wanted to know about what’s going on at the Search/Advertising giant.
- Jason Calcanis - inside AOL/Netscape
- Matt Cutts - inside Google’s search optimization world. Sadly most of his latest posts have gone video. I hate gratuituous video posts.
- Microsoft Watch - keeping an eye on the beast; both business and technical knowledge
- Scobleizer - Robert Scoble’s blog. Doesn’t usually break news but often has a good pulse on hot topics.
- Techcrunch - General tech news
That’s it. Plug those sites into your RSS reader or your bookmarks and you’ve got the Slashdot news, a day before it’s on Slashdot.
