Obviously the Democrats are enjoying the release of the NIE report, so they can claim that Iraq was a mistake. However they are repeating the same problem they had in the 2004 elections. “We’re Not Bush” is not a valid campaign strategy, and it’s not a plan for the future. The Democrats have no message, no plan, and no goals.
David Ignatius of the Washington Post spells it out: now is the time for a plan. Don’t just bitch about Iraq; offer what the Democrats can do to fix things. Don’t say “I told you so”, say “Here’s what I’m telling you will help us move forward.”
