A few weeks ago there was quite the buzz about SimpleSeating, a new web2.0-ish site designed to manage, of all things, seating charts. Everyone from obscure folks like myself to mainstream news sites like CNet made a big deal of the site.
Turns out things aren’t quite as cute and fuzzy as they appear. Just because it’s web2.0 doesn’t mean that it will be a success… this is the bubble all over again. The CNet article I linked here indicates you can’t print your seating charts, and there’s not even a static URL to share with others.
Read that again. You can create the chart but there’s no way to print it or share it with others. To me, that pretty much sums the whole affair up as damn near useless.
