AdSense vs. PayPerPost
With PayPerPost offering a new payment model for bloggers, one has to wonder how and if this will affect AdSense. Will folks ditch AdSense and focus on PayPerPost? Will the two work together? Are they unrelated and irrelevant?![]()
What I can say is that for a blog with a moderate traffic level, the potential earnings from PayPerPost far outweigh those from AdSense. It looks like PayPerPost will let me make money at a faster rate than AdSense. I can’t easily say one is better than the other, or that one should be ignored, but any blogger who is serious about earning some money ought to give both a hard look at time involved and return on investment. I don’t foresee AdSense going away but if PayPerPost really takes off it will make Google and the other contextual advertising companies take a hard look at their future business model.
PayPerPost is like any other advertising tool: it can be used correctly or it can be abused. Someone who creates a blog solely for the purpose of running sponsored posts isn’t going to have any credibility, whereas when a sponsored post fits in with the natural flow and other topics covered by the blog it’s not going to harm anyone.
