Sound Politics - Lessons

October 6, 2006

Sound Politics has a post tonight offering up some lessons learned from the Foley/Hastert situation.  For the most part I agree, taking particular note of the following:

  • “Number One: gay closeting by GOP office-seekers and office-holders must end” - yes.  Sexual orientation shouldn’t be a political issue.
  • “Number Four: Don’t cover up for office-holders who are perverts, and or seeking to abuse their authority - whether they are heterosexual or gay.” - yes.  Personally my thoughts are that anyone who is covering up some sort of abuse of power is committing a greater offense than the original scumbag.
  • “Number Six: Democrats latching onto the “Hastert must resign” now meme are truly without a real agenda to move America forward. ” - yes.  Just like I said yesterday, stop bitching, start offering a plan.

Head over there and read the rest
