Adding Search Engines to IE and Firefox
Both next-generation browsers (IE 7 and Firefox 2) have the ability for a user to customize the built-in search engines, but folks are usually used to doing it via a third-party toolbar. There’s at least one site out there going to make things easier. OpenSearchList lets you Add search providers to IE7 and Firefox 2 easily. Just go to their site and follow the directions.
They have quite a few popular searches right on their homepage including Yahoo Finance, BitTorrent, and even the Wayback Machine. If you know the search URL syntax you can even add your own search or customize a search to make it unique for your needs. I’m bookmarking the site and once I make the browser upgrade this sounds like it will come in handy.
