I participate in a few online forums related to my photography hobby, and they run a variety of messaging systems. Today I heard about a new one called GoBoardz which looks like it is pretty easy to set up. While not as customizable as a standalone system such as vBulletin, the hosted GoBoardz system lets someone easily setup a message forum with a bunch of decent features. Their system is in tune with the typical “Web 2.0″ features such as easy submission to del.icio.us and digg, as well as providing RSS feeds for the message topics.
Go check it out… if you need somewhere to do a quick and dirty message board, this looks like a great way to do it in a free hosted environment. Here’s a couple screenshots of some forums:
