Swipe Your Card to Heaven
If you’re like me, you rarely carry much cash and the checkbook gathers dust sitting at home. How does that impact the church offering coffers? If someone forgets to bring their offering to church, they’re not likely to have cash or checks on hand to quickly drop a few dollars in the bucket.
Donald Trump notes that many churches, especially protestant churches in the South, are now installing machines similar to ATMs which will allow folks to swipe their card and make their donation to the church easily. This sounds like a great idea; I’m sure that the contributions are up when folks don’t have the excuse that they forgot their checkbook; as Trump notes, pretty much everyone is carrying plastic.
