November Joys

Ah, the joys of home ownership.  Yesterday it involved crawling around the attic and then the roof to (hopefully) patch a leak.  When Jen went up in the attic to put up Halloween boxes, she yelled down “I think we have a leak.”  We did.  Right at the hip where the garage roof meets the house.  Of course, everything looked just fine topside, so I cemented the whole seam all the way down.  Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

Today I got to put in five arborvitaes for a hedge to block off where the former owner next door decided to build his own driveway leading from his backyard to the side of my driveway.  Um, no.  It’s my driveway, not public property.  We’re between renters with the new owner so now was a great time to go put in a bunch of 4′ tall shrubs to make it clear that my property follows my driveway all the way to the street.

At least I’m having a better weekend than Betsy…
