Real Impact From PayPerPost

The folks at PayPerPost have been doing some interesting things lately in ways to grow and expand their various programs matching advertisers with bloggers. I signed up for their program back in October which has allowed me to get paid to blog. Since then, I’ve intermixed some sponsored blog posts here and on Dogcaught.com along with the rest of the things I would post anyway.

They’re looking for folks to talk about what they’ve made and what they’re using it for. I have nothing to hide. Since October I’ve earned around $700. Generally the opportunities pay between $5 and $15. Obviously I’m not going to quit my day job based on that level of pay-out, but it’s a nice little source of supplemental income. What am I doing with the money? That’s an easy question to answer: supporting my photography hobby.

I’ve started tucking the money away into a camera fund. I first dipped into the bucket of cash in early January when I purchased a digital point and shoot camera to carry around all the time. I’d been wanting one for a while, and it makes my Daily Photo Project work so much easier to have something that’s nice and compact. My next goal won’t be for a while, but I’m looking to replace my DSLR. I currently have a Canon EOS-300D which is a few years old and starting to show some signs of age. I’ve got my eye on either the 30D or (by the time I have the funds) its successor which should be released soon.

That’s the impact from using PayPerPost.

I, too, got a small point-and-shoot camera to compliment the DSLR (Nikon D80) I have. It’s important to have a camera with you all the time because sometimes the best shots occur when you’re not expecting them (and I’m not going to wear the D80 around my neck every waking moment).
