PayPerPost – Not About Pennies Anymore

One of the common criticisms about the PayPerPost blog marketing business model was that the initial blogger adopters were selling their soul by making deceptive posts for just a couple dollars. They still have the same business model but things have changed with some of the blogger requirements. For example, they now require disclosure, so anytime someone is posting any sort of sponsored content, they are required to disclose that fact on their blog using a variety of methods to make it clear that it is sponsored.

One of the parts of the service that excites me is that they are now working with both bloggers and advertisers to target the advertising at a finer level. By using information about a blogger’s characteristics or the specific information about blog traffic levels and search quality scores, the advertisers can assure the ads will be seen by an appropriate targeted audience. Because the audience is better targeted, this means that advertisers are willing to pay more for the coverage, and consequently bloggers receive higher payouts. It is a situation which benefits everyone involved.

If you’re an advertiser, be sure to check them out. Apparently they charge a much lower comission rate for their sponsored content than some of their competitors.
