As my digital file inventory grows and contains more and more photos, documents, spreadsheets, and other random bits of my life on disk, keeping a safe, available backup of that data grows in importance. Right now my backup strategy involves burning to DVD and keeping a copy offsite… it’s not a bad backup strategy but it involves a lot of manual labor. I’ve started looking at some services to help me automate this process and today I looked at IDrive-E Online Backup. It looks like they have a good feature set and the price is right at 2GB/month for free and unlimited space for less than $50/year. They feature data encryption which is a must if you’re going to back up any files of importance. If you’re looking for an online backup provider, check them out… I know I will.
