Twitter and the River of News
I had an interesting thought this morning while listening to some of the responses to Chris Pirillo’s call for thoughts on Twitter.
Folks tend to get fairly passionate about whether they like a River of News style aggregator (championed by Dave Winer), or if they need to obsessively categorize every feed into heirarchical folder structures.
I wonder how those folder-lovers feel about Twitter. Twitter is all river, all of the time. Does that disturb them?
Me? I’m firmly in the River camp, and I think that any sort of folder structure for Twitter would just dilute things and make the whole community and timeline less Twitterlike.
