Vista First Impressions
Last night I picked up a new PC and installed Vista Ultimate. Some random first impressions:
- The installation seemed pretty fast. Definitely faster than a clean XP install.
- It was a bummer I had to manually find, download, transfer from another PC, and install the network driver for the NIC on the Asus P5L-MX board
- UAC really isn’t that annoying
- So far, the one piece of hardware I’m having problems with is my Wacom Intuos tablet. Even after installing their driver which claims to work on Vista, Windows still doesn’t see the device as having a valid driver. I sent their support folks an e-mail this morning.
