Blogger Whines; LAFD Notices
I’ve mentioned before that I’m a big fan of the Los Angeles Fire Department blog. I’ve used it as a model in some blog recommendations for the City of Portland but thus far my pleas have not been answered.
Tonight, the LAFD blog pointed to a post by a Los Angeles resident who was unhappy with the fact that the LAFD wasn’t able to snap their fingers and instantaneously extinguish a brush fire. Despite the fact that Ms. Barstow admits “I know nothing about fire, or putting it out”, that doesn’t stop her from claiming the LAPD should’ve been able to wrap things up faster. She doesn’t seem to care that no lives or structures were damaged by the fire, only that it lasted four days and in her mind that was unacceptable.
I’m thankful that the internet lets uninformed folks write about darned near anything, but it’s also through the beauty of the internet that the LAFD can point out when someone’s talking out of their ass.
