Chill Out About the Leaderboard

Wow.  Last night I made a tweet about the A-list and their stats obsession.  Scoble jokingly replied, and I figured folks were just having a bit of friendly competition about the thing.

Then tonight I saw Dave Winer’s post about some sort of notification every time the list changes, because, as he mentions, it could change every 20 minutes or so.

He wants to know what folks think.  What I think is that there’s no reason you need a notification every 20 minutes about a blog popularity list.  Seriously… if it’s that important, check it once a day or something… build your own scraper.  An automated notification is crazy.
