The Killer Geek Feature for Desktop Feed Readers
I’ve recently switched back to using a desktop feed reader (Newsgator’s FeedDemon) after spending a year using Google Reader. It has some minor advantages for my current feed reading style. As I’ve used it over the past week, I’ve hit upon what would be the killer geek feature for a desktop feed reader:
I want a feed reader with a scripting language.
Expose the feeds and feed items as objects so that we can check their properties and create actions. Think of the various tools which could be built. Sure, I realize it’s a nontrivial task to add scripting, but consider the geek potential.
