Decompressing from BarCampPortland
I had a great time this weekend at BarCampPortland. A big thanks to everyone involved; the organizers did a great job with logistics and the participants brought a lot of knowledge into dozens of sessions on all sorts of topics.
I was nervous when the initial schedule was put together; there weren’t many WordPress sessions (only 2 I think) and so it was going to be a bit of a lackluster WordCamp. But as the weekend progressed, more topics got on the board and we ended up with at least half a dozen WordPress sessions of varying areas and skill levels.
I’m pretty sure there’s demand for a full-blown standalone WordCamp event in Portland. If you’re interested in helping with the organization, join the wordcamppdx Google Group.
I shot a couple hundred photos and will have them online in a few days. It was great meeting a few more faces from Twitter, including the always-interesting @pagecrusher.
All in all, an excellent (although tiring) weekend!
